Enter the lands of the Arabian Nights alongside Sindbad, Scheherazade, Aladdin, and the other legendary heroes of the 1001 Tales. Travel the world encountering imprisoned princesses, powerful ‘efreets, evil viziers, and such marvels as the enigmatic Magnetic Mountain, the terrifying Ape Island, and the lustrous Crystal Palace.

Characters and locations you encounter will be different based on when you meet them, where you meet them, the reactions you choose, and the skills and treasures you bring to the encounter. Choose wisely, and you can become respected, determined, or beloved. Choose foolishly, however, and you risk becoming a beggar, changing into an animal, or even going insane.

Tales Of The Arabian Nights Board Game: 40th Anniversary Edition is both a storytelling game and all the narrative components you'll need to set up stories worthy of Scheherazade to tell or role-play. During the game, you and the other players encounter a diversity of interesting people, exotic creatures, and strange events. Each encounter is set up for you by referring to a Reaction Matrix, which offers you several choices of how to respond to that encounter.

Your choice will guide you to a set of story paragraphs in the Book of Tales, which reveal the outcomes of your encounter. You can wield the skills and statuses of your character to affect your results, or the story may key off those skills and statuses to take your Arabian Nights adventure in unexpected directions, for good or ill!
